Our Anodising & Electroplating Services:
Anodising
We offer both Sulphuric Anodising and Hard Anodising in clear/silver and dyed-black with a range of other colour anodising available on request.
Typical specifications:
| BS EN 12373 | DEF STAN 03-26 |
| BS 5599 | DEF STAN 03-25 |
| MIL-A-8625 |
Electroless Nickel Plating
Electroless nickel plated deposit offers a bright, hard, corrosion and wear-resistant coating with a highly uniform thickness which is not achievable with electrolytic plating. The process is particularly well-suited for the coating of complex shapes with tight engineering tolerances. Our process is a modern medium phosphorous, lead and cadmium-free process which is fully compliant for ELV, RoHS and WEEE purposes.
Typical specifications:
| ASTM B733 | DEF STAN 03-5 |
| BS EN ISO 4527 | |
| MIL-C-26704 |
Zinc Plating & Passivation
Zinc plating is usually used to provide a greater degree of corrosion protection for less noble metals such as mild steel. The application of a post-plating passivate film can further enhance corrosion protection. We provide trivalent clear/blue passivate and trivalent colour passivate and also trivalent black passivate with a lacquer topcoat which are all ELV, RoHs and WEEE compliant.
Typical specifications:
| ASTM B633 | DEF STAN 03-8 |
| BS EN 12329 | DEF STAN 03-20 |
| DIN 50961 |
Iridite NCP
Iridite NCP is a non-chromate conversion coating which may be specified where compliance with the RoHS and WEEE directives is required. It also offers excellent corrosion resistance and improved paint adherence with a clear surface finish.
Typical specifications:
| MIL-C-554 | DEF STAN 03-18 |
Surtec 650 V
Surtec 650 V is a trivalent chromium-based conversion coating process where compliance with the RoHS and WEEE directives is required. It also offers excellent corrosion resistance and improved paint adherence with a visible surface finish.
Typical specifications:
| MIL-C-5541 | DEF STAN 03-18 |
Stainless Steel Passivation
Passivation of stainless steel is a process that removes free iron from the surface of a stainless component and at the same time promotes the formation of a thin, dense oxide protective barrier. We can provide specifications employing both citric and nitric acid methods.
Typical specifications:
| ASTM A967 | |
| AMS 2700 | |
| QQ-P-35 |
Zinc Phosphate and Oil
Phosphate coatings are often used to provide corrosion resistance; however, phosphate coatings do not provide this on their own because the coating is porous. Therefore, oil or other sealers are used to achieve corrosion resistance which is referred to as a phosphate and oil (P&O) coating. Zinc phosphate coatings function as an effective surface preparation for further coating and/or painting with excellent adhesion.
Typical specifications:
| BS EN ISO 9717:2013 | |
| AMS 03-11 |
